It is showdown week in the ACC. The conference has been desperate for someone, anyone to compete with the Clemson Tigers at the top spot. Miami gets the next chance at 7:30PM Saturday in Death Valley.

Here is the Week 5 Power Rankings

1. Clemson (3-0) -Clemson was not at their best vs Virginia but it didn’t matter as the Tigers rolled 41-23. Trevor Lawrence threw for 329 yards and 3 scores in the win. Next Game Saturday 7:30PM vs Miami

2. Notre Dame (2-0) - The Fighting Irish are dealing with more than football at the current time. Notre Dame had to postpone their game vs Wake Forest but will return to action after a couple of week hiatus. Next Game Saturday 7:30PM vs FSU

3. Miami (3-0) - Miami enjoyed a week off after their 3-0 start, but must play better after bye weeks than they did in 2019. Miami has what is called a measuring stick game against Clemson who has won the previous 2 contests by a combined 96-3 score.Next Game Saturday 7:30PM @ Clemson

4. North Carolina (2-0) - Not a vintage performance by the Tar Heels offense, but they did just enough to hold on 26-22 over BC. Carolina sealed the game with a pick 2 as Boston College attempted to tie the game on a 2 point conversion. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM vs Virginia Tech

5. Virginia Tech (2-0) - The Hokies got 208 yards and 2 TDs including a 60 yard run from Khalil Herbert to seal a 38-31 win over Duke. The Hokies defense gave up 24 second half points, but held on to improve to 2-0. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM @ North Carolina

6. Virginia (1-1) - The Cavaliers were able to move the ball against Clemson but were ultimately undone by a couple of turnovers. Brennan Armstrong threw for 270 yards and 3 scores in the loss. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM vs NC St

7. North Carolina St (2-1) NC St was a 14 point underdog on the road but were able to pull off the upset @ Pitt. Devin Leary found Emeka Emezie for the game winner with 28 seconds to go. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM @ Virginia

8. Pittsburgh (3-1) -It was heartbreak city for Pitt who couldn’t rally from 14-0 down to beat NC St. Pitt is 2nd in the country in total defense, but could not get a stop when they needed it late in the game. Next Game Saturday 4:00PM @ Boston College

9. Boston College (2-1) It is definitely not your dad or even older brothers’ Boston College. Phil Jurkovec threw the ball 56 times for 313 yards in the loss to UNC. Next Game Saturday 4:00PM vs Pitt

10. Louisville (1-2) Louisville had a bye week to get ready for a road game vs GT. The Cardinals were terrible on offense in a loss to Pitt, and will need to clean that up. Next Game Friday 7:00PM @ Georgia Tech

11. Syracuse (1-2) The Orange had a bye week coming off their 1st win of the season over Georgia Tech 37-20. The Orange still are struggling on offense, but at least had a win to hang their hats on. Next Game Saturday 12:30PM vs Duke

12. Georgia Tech (1-2) - Jeff Sims will be a good QB one day soon, but he must learn to protect the football. Sims now has 8 interceptions in 3 games which is a recipe for disaster. Next Game Friday 7:00PM vs Louisville

13. Wake Forest (1-2) Wake Forest got their 1st win of the season 66-14 over Campbell. The Demon Deacons will enjoy a week off before they return to conference play. Next Game October 17th vs Virginia

14. Florida St (1-2) The Seminoles finally got a win in come from behind fashion over Jacksonville St. Noles rallied from 14 down behind Jordan Travis who took over at the QB spot. Next Game Saturday 7:30PM @ Notre Dame

15. Duke (0-4) Duke put up a good fight, but ultimately fell 38-31 to VT. David Cutcliffe kicked a FG down 10 with 5 seconds left which was a head scratcher. Next Game Saturday 12:30PM @ Syracuse
