A day after Miami’s December 5th game at Wake Forest was canceled due to COVID-19 issues in the Demon Deacons program, the ACC announced that it had found a replacement team for the Canes to play this weekend:
Enter the Duke Blue Devils.
With ongoing COVID-19 issues at Florida State, the Blue Devils’ game against the Seminoles was canceled. And, in its wake, Miami was inserted as the opponent for this weekend.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that the Florida State at Duke game will not be played on Saturday, December 5. Instead, Miami will travel to Duke this Saturday for a 8 p.m. kickoff on ACC Network.
As noted above, the game will have an 8pm kick time and air on the ACC Network.
I, for one, was looking forward to playing Duke this season when the original, pre-COVID schedule was released. Miami has lost consecutive games to the Blue Devils for the first time in program history the last 2 years, and I want VENGEANCE!!!
However, in the reworked schedule due to COVID, Duke, a fellow Coastal Division team, was removed from the schedule in favor of Clemson (talk about a bad swap for Miami. sheeesh). Duke has been putrid this year, and I’ve wanted the chance to play, and beat, them all year long.
And now Miami has it.
So there it is friends. Miami travels to Durham, NC to #BeatDuke this Saturday night at 8pm on the ACC Network.
Welcome back to game week, everyone!!!!!
