It is prove-it week for the top two teams in the ACC as Notre Dame and Clemson will face off for the top spot in the conference. The remainder of the ACC is up for grabs as everyone seems to be cannibalizing each other. The Canes seem to be a clear number three and they will be extremely interested in the game Saturday evening.

Here are the Week 9 Power Rankings

1. Clemson (7-0) - Clemson was tested for the 1st time all season as they rallied from 28-10 down to upend Boston College 34-28. Freshman D.J. Uiagalelei threw for 342 yards and 2 TD’s in the come-from behind victory. Next Game Saturday 7:30PM @ North Carolina

2. Notre Dame (6-0) -The Irish seem to be hitting on all cylinders as they cruised to a 31-13 win over Georgia Tech. Ian Book threw for 199 and a score as ND dominated from start to finish Next Game Saturday 3:30PM @ Georgia Tech

3. Miami (5-1) -Can Miami finally overcome the bye week blues that have hindered them over the past few seasons. Manny Diaz is 0-4 coming off a bye week which needs to change ASAP. Next Game Friday 7:30PM @ North Carolina St

THE MIDDLE OF THE PACK

4. Wake Forest (4-2) -This is where the rankings get tough. None of these teams is better than the others, so Wake is here by virtue of a 4-game winning streak, the latest being 38-14 over Syracuse. Next Game Saturday November 14th @ North Carolina

5. Virginia Tech (4-2) - Hendon Hooker was a perfect 10 for 10 passing in a big win over Louisville 42-35. Hooker bounced back from a 3 int performance the week previous. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM vs Liberty

6. North Carolina (4-2) - Eye test tells me UNC is 4th behind Miami, but how can you overlook losses to FSU and now Virginia. The Tar Heels defense was brutal giving up 44 points to the Cavaliers. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM @ Duke

7. Boston College (3-4) - They had Clemson on the ropes until they did not. The Eagles are much better and much more exciting in Jeff Hafley’s 1st year. Next Game Saturday 2:00PM @ Syracuse

8. North Carolina St (4-2) - The Wolfpack had a bye to get ready for a visit from Miami. Will the QB be Bailey Hockman or Ben Finley? Next Game Friday 7:30PM vs Miami

THE REST

9. Pittsburgh (3-4) - Pitt has been bad since Kenny Pickett was hurt. Next Game Saturday 4:00PM @ FSU

10. Virginia (2-4) - The Cavaliers played their best game holding on to beat UNC 44-41. Brennan Armstrong threw for 3 TD’s and UVA executed a 4th down fake punt to hold on. Next Game Saturday 8:00PM @ Louisville

11. Louisville (2-4) -. Louisville’s offense is rolling again with 548 total yards led by Malik Cunningham and 350 yards through the air. Unfortunately, their defense was a sieve on Saturday. Next Game Saturday 8:00PM vs Virginia

12. Duke (2-5) - Duke beat Charlotte, whatever that means in the grand scheme of things. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM vs North Carolina

13. Georgia Tech (2-5) - The Yellow Jackets had great uniforms on Saturday afternoon, too bad they did not play well losing 31-13 to Notre Dame. Next Game November 14th vs Pittsburgh

14. FSU (2-4) - The Seminoles had a bye week to try and fix a lot of problems. Next Game Saturday 4:00PM vs Pittsburgh

15. Syracuse (1-6) - The Orange were demolished 38-14 by Wake Forest. Time for Dino Babers to update the resume. Next Game Saturday 2:00PM vs Boston College
