2021 Miami Hurricanes quarterback signee Jake Garcia closed his high school career out with a state championship on Wednesday night.
Garcia completed 10-of-18 passes for 136 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception as Loganville-Grayson dominated Suwanee-Collins Hill 38-14 in the Georgia 7A state title game in Atlanta.
Both of Garcia’s touchdown passes came in the first half as Grayson led 35-0 at halftime.
The first was a 37-yard strike to Jamal Haynes, who beat 2022 Florida State commitment Travis Hunter in coverage.

Garcia’s journey in search of a place to play his senior season took him from his home in Los Angeles, to Valdosta (Ga.) High, and finally to Grayson High, where he played in eight games as a Ram.
In those eight games, Grayson (14-0) did not win by less than 24 points and had an average margin of victory of just under 34 points. Garcia finished with 1,237 yards passing, 14 touchdowns, and six interceptions for the Rams.
After ending his long-time verbal commitment from USC, Garcia signed with the Hurricanes during the early signing period and is expected to enroll early at Miami in the month of January. He is Miami’s highest ranked quarterback signee since Kyle Wright in 2003 according to the 247sports.com composite rankings.
