Also known as inflammatory cardiomyopathy, Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle. Symptoms can include shortness of breath, chest pain, decreased ability to exercise, and an irregular heartbeat.
Obviously, this is a serious medical issue, and Blades Jr. will undergo treatment to address it. Luckily, the COVID-19 bloodwork found the issue, and it’s able to be treated. In the above-embedded tweet, Blades Jr. states he will be out a minimum of three months while undergoing treatment, and looks forward to a healthy return to the field in 2021.
We all wish Al Blades Jr. a swift and full recovery, and hope to see him return to the field in top form once healthy.
