Garrett Nussmeier is 6’1” 185 pound sneaky smooth off schedule gunslinger from Marcus High School in Texas. This 2021 prospect with a Miami Hurricane offer is son of Doug Nussmeier the Dallas Cowboy quarterback coach.

The current 132nd best rated prospect and the seventh best pro style passer from 247, Nussmeier amassed 3788 passing yards and 38 passing touchdowns while only throwing 10 interceptions last year. Nussmeier also was his respective 6-A high school designation MVP.
This quarterback’s film is very good. His defining trait is his ability to do things that you just can’t teach. Nussmeier’s ability to perform off schedule and make plays is impressive. Regardless if you have an NFL caliber dad as a quarterback coach or not, you see enough surgical variance in his throwing arsenal and a vision that is point guard-esque.
He has the ability to make all the throws you need him to. You see a 60 yard capable arm and has multiple trajectories on balls. You see his offensive coordinator’s confidence to allow him to audible and Nussmeier correctly checks in the right play. Now when you have had recent Miami Hurricane coaches not allow their collegiate counterparts to do so, I find in impressive.
In this film you see a Patrick Mahome’s style flick of the wrist. You also see a combination of pocket awareness and pocket discipline that is beyond his years. The scariest part? Nussmeier still has the ability to fill out, improve and continue to refine mechanically. I just got a sense he carries himself on the field with extreme confidence and displays an exuberant nature that comfortably combines to drive on Joe Burrow avenue. Fitting that LSU is showing the young man tons of interest.
So I have secretly been in the lab. And I have new favorite 2021 QB leader. @TheStateOfTheU
