Miami Hurricanes vs UAB Blazers game date changed

It’s early enough where this change doesn’t hurt anything, but update your calendars now so you don’t get fooled

On Wednesday evening, the University of Miami announced that the upcoming non-conference game against the UAB Blazers has been moved. No, this is not a rescheduling, this is date change for the game, which will still be played this season.

Originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, September 19th, the game has been moved up to Thursday, September 17th. The game will still be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

Miami Athletics stated in a press release that the start time and TV coverage for this game will be confirmed and announced in May.

With this date change, Miami will play UAB on a short week, just 5 days after facing off against the FCS Wagner Seahawks on September 12th. While that may not be optimal — UAB is a talented G5 team coming off a 9-win season....and Miami has seldom played to the level of the talent on the roster in recent years so this may not be a cakewalk — the added benefit is extra time to prepare for the week 4 trip to East Lansing, MI to face off against the Michigan State Spartans.

So that’s it. Change your calendars and put Miami-UAB on Thursday, September 17th.

We’ll talk more about the schedule for next season soon.
