A 6’1” 296lb lineman, Haye has good size and skill, and will be a much-needed addition to Miami’s Defensive Line rotation.
A starter on Chaminade’s 3A State Championship team, Haye had 68 tackles and 6 sacks as a junior.
Coming from a multiple time Championship program (which gives additional visibility to its players), Haye had plenty of scholarship offers to choose from. He picked Miami, and his longstanding relationship wth RB coach Eric Hickson and DL coach Todd Stroud, over offers from Kentucky, Maryland, NC State, Duke, Pittsburgh, and others.
Haye is the 11th commitment in Miami’s 2021 recruiting class. He joins HS teammates RB Thad Franklin and K Andres Borregales in committing to the Canes. And, Haye is the 2nd DT in this class, joining Miami (FL) Palmetto 4-star Saivion Collins in this class (though, it should be said that Collins’s commitment is considered very, incredibly, pillowy soft).
