Troutman is a Miami native who helped lead Edgewater to the Class 7A state championship game, where it lost to Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.
Troutman’s junior highlights show a physical player who has the speed to get sideline-to-sideline to make plays on the ball carrier.
According to 247Sports.com, Troutman is a 3-star prospect who is the No.32 ranked inside linebacker in the Class of 2021. He also held offers from Florida State, Kansas State, Louisville, Minnesota and West Virginia among others.
Troutman joins Miami Northwestern’s Ja’Corey Hammett and Miami Killian’s Tyler Johnson as the Hurricanes’ verbally committed linebackers who are rising seniors.
The commitment pushed Miami to No.13 nationally in the 247Sports team rankings. Manny Diaz has the Hurricanes at No.3 in the ACC behind Clemson and North Carolina.
