The Miami Hurricanes added yet another dangerous offensive weapon to the 2021 recruiting class when Frisco (TX) Independence 4-star TE Elijah Arroyo committed to The U moments ago.

A talented 6’4” 210lb player, Arroyo is the latest native Texan to pick Miami, and continues the long line of blue-chip Tight Ends to commit to, and play for, the Hurricanes.
When he received his Miami scholarship offer, Arroyo stated that Miami was his childhood “dream school”.
Extremely blessed to receive an offer from my childhood dream school, The University of Miami!!!! #ItsAllAboutTheU @CanesFootball @rhettlashlee @CoachField @Coach_Lavender pic.twitter.com/UNt37NjyhF

But, contrary to most other times that prospects list Miami as their “dream school”, Arroyo actually committed to Miami! HOW ABOUT THAT!!!!!!
Arroyo was a first team All-District performer as a junior for Independence as he amassed 47 catches for 648 yards and 5 TDs on the season. Arroyo has room to fill out his frame, and is mostly seen in a tight slot alignment. Arroyo will both block and go out on routes from that position, but will need to add variety to his game. Additionally, Arroyo could improve as an in-line blocker.
With 24 offers to his name, Arroyo recently named a top 10 of Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Penn State, SMU, Texas A&M, and USC. That’s a strong list of contenders from a robust offer list. But, in the end, the dream school won out and Arroyo committed to Miami over that list of blue bloods — and Arizona State and SMU.
Arroyo is the 14th player to commit to Miami in the 2021 class. He is yet another player who could end up at TE, with Miami (FL) Northwestern product Khalil Brantley and Miami (FL) Central standout Chamon Metayer also falling into that category.
