In just the latest offseason move that Manny Diaz and his staff have been able to pull off, the Hurricanes are bringing in talented grad-transfer, offensive tackle Jarrid Williams from Houston the grad transfer OL announced just moments ago.

Since announcing that he'd be leaving Houston and playing his final year of eligibility at another school, Williams has considered multiple programs over the last several weeks, including Miami, FSU, and Baylor, just to name a few.

However, it was announced today, that Williams had chosen the Hurricanes, reuniting with his former teammate at Houston, quarterback D’Eriq King.
Seeing talk about Houston’s RT Jarrid Williams entering the portal. Here’s a quick eval (RT #62): Long arms/good feet in pass pro and can kick back well. Anchors well and shows power vs bull rush. Agile in space. Definitely has some nastiness. Starting caliber, could prob play LT pic.twitter.com/W8y7DLuq6o

Williams is a huge pickup for the Canes offensive line, as he’ll probably take over the starting position at right tackle. Starting at RT for Houston in 2018, Williams played and started in all 13 games, allowing just two sacks. Last year, an injury sidelined Williams for the remainder of the season after just the first four games.
I really want Jarrid Williams to be a Hurricane. pic.twitter.com/qOuu9VExnG

Make no mistake about it, Williams will definitely have an impact on the Hurricanes offensive attack in 2020, and his addition just raises the expectations for what this team can accomplish this year.
