Building The Perfect Madden 20 Miami Hurricanes Offense

Plenty of talented offensive players have gone through the ranks with the Miami Hurricanes. How good would a Madden 20 Ultimate Team be of those former players?

Notre Dame v Miami

In Madden NFL 2010, EA Sports released a new game mode titled “Ultimate Team”. The game mode allowed users to build a team of players from different teams and different ratings.

Since Madden 10, the Ultimate Team game mode has only increased. Now, it is one of the most important features of the Madden franchise. Not only have the number of cards increased but the amount of players has also increased. Now, users can play with current players, chosen legends, and even some NFL Draft prospects, who are added to the game closer to the NFL Draft.

With such a wide player base, the ability to build a team of former Miami Hurricanes football players has increased... sort of. A few positions lack big-time Hurricanes players, including the quarterback position, which does not include the likes of Jim Kelly, Vinny Testaverde, or any current players.

Given this knowledge, how easy would it be to build an all-time Madden 20 Ultimate Team team of just former Hurricanes?

Quarterback:

Although no former Miami Hurricanes have a quarterback card in Madden 20, Brad Kaaya did have a card in Madden 19, last year’s release of the game.

Kaaya’s Madden 19 Ultimate Team card was a 66 overall silver card. Although it lacked the throwing stats of a high-end card, the card did come in 70 speed and 72 acceleration.

Running Back:

96 Overall Free Agency Lamar Miller

There are plenty of running backs to choose from but Lamar Miller has a 96 overall card in Madden 20, making him the highest-ranked among former Miami Hurricanes.

Lamar Miller’s 94 overall card features 94 speed, 93 acceleration, and 94 agility, making him more than a capable option for any team. Along with the athleticism stats, Miller also has 90 elusiveness, 95 juke move, and 95 carrying.

95 Overall Theme Diamonds Edgerrin James

Edgerrin James’ 95 overall card is the second-highest ranked among former Hurricanes and the card features stats that make it more than usable online.

James comes in 93 speed, 93 acceleration, and 94 agility, similar to the 96 overall Lamar Miller card. James also features a 91 elusiveness ranking, 91 juke move, and 93 carrying.

Wide Receiver

98 Overall Ultimate Legends Devin Hester

Devin Hester is not only the highest-rated former Miami Hurricanes wide receivers but he is also one of the highest-rated wide receivers in all of Madden 20 Ultimate Team.

Hester’s card features 98 speed, 97 acceleration, and 98 agility, making him a threat both in the return game and as an actual wide receiver. Hester also has 85 short route running, 88 deep route running, and 84 catching.

94 Overall Harvest Michael Irvin

At 6-foot-2, Michael Irvin is the perfect complement to Devin Hester. Although Irvin lacks the top end speed (92) or acceleration (92), the former Cane and Cowboys star more than makes up for it with his catching ability. Irvin’s card features 90 catching, 92 catch in traffic, 92 spectacular catch, along with high route running stats.

85 Overall NFL Playoffs Phillip Dorsett

Although Phillip Dorsett’s card is just an 85 overall, the card has enough stats to make it a decent budget option. With 92 speed and 88 acceleration, Dorsett’s best fit seems to come as a run after the catch receiver. Along with the speed, Dorsett’s card features 88 spin move and 87 juke move.

97 Overall Draft Heroes Greg Olsen

Greg Olsen might be the perfect complement for the three wide receivers on this all-time Miami Hurricanes team. Not only does Olsen have a good amount (87 speed and 89 acceleration), 98 catching, 98 catch in traffic, and 96 spectacular catch. With 94 short route running, Olsen is the perfect security blanket for the quarterback.

93 Overall Theme Builders Jimmy Graham

So far, the team lacks a red zone threat, and that’s exactly what Jimmy Graham will provide. At 6-foot-7, Graham’s card features 92 jumping, 97 catching, 94 spectacular catch, and 91 catch in traffic. Although the card lacks speed, the catching stats make him an intriguing option given the skill set of the wide receivers.

Offensive Line

93 Overall Color Smash Brandon Linder

At 93 overall, Brandon Linder is the highest rated former Miami Hurricanes offensive linemen and the only one that is above a 90 overall.

Linder’s card has 91 run blocking, 90 pass blocking, and 89 impact blocking, all good enough stats for the offensive line. Linder’s card also features 92 pass-blocking power and 93 run-blocking power, making him a threat for pancakes.

85 Overall Theme Builders Ereck Flowers

Although Ereck Flowers played tackle with the Miami Hurricanes, his Madden 20 card places him at offensive guard. Although Flowers blocking stats are low, his card features 90 strength and 89 impact blocking.

85 Overall NFL Playoffs Jon Feliciano

Jon Feliciano is the only other former Hurricanes offensive linemen with an elite card in the game, making him the logical edition to be included. Alongside 85 impact block, Feliciano also holds 83 pass block power, 83 run block power, and 82 pass block.
