Three 2021 commits for the Miami Hurricanes made headlines on Wednesday. USA Today released their All-USA high school football preseason first-team, and 5-star safety James Williams, 3-star kicker Andres Borregales, and 4-star running back Thad Franklin all made the list.

Williams had a stellar junior season, finishing with 6 interceptions and 62 tackles. 247 Sports has Williams as both the #1 ATH and safety in the state of Florida, and #9 player nationally for 2021. He’s regarded as the best safety in the country.

Borregales, who is the younger brother of current UM kicker and FIU transfer Jose Borregales, has become one the premiere kickers in the entire nation. He connected on 12 of 15 kicks in 2019 at Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna Prep. 247 Sports has Borregales ranked as the #3 2021 kicker.

Franklin, who is Borregales’ teammates at Chaminade-Madonna, is one of the elite running backs in South Florida, and turned heads in 2019. As a junior, Franklin rushed for 2,282 yards and 28 touchdowns, leading his team to a 3A State Championship. 247 Sports has Franklin as the #10 2021 running back, #32 player in Florida, and #223 nationally.
