The ACC has some potential contenders moving into October, but can anyone dethrone Clemson?

The ACC has to feel good about themselves as they have more than one team that seems like they can make a run to the college football playoffs. Clemson is still the big dog in the conference, but Miami, Notre Dame, Pitt and UNC have all played quality football this season.

Here is the Week 4 Power Rankings

1. Clemson (2-0) - The Tigers had a bye and no change to the top spot in our rankings. Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne will continue to get all the headlines but once again they have reloaded on defense. Next Game Saturday 8:00PM vs Virginia

2. Notre Dame (2-0) - The Fighting Irish are dealing with more than football at the current time. 18 players on the Covid list with 34 total in isolation. Notre Dame had to postpone their game vs Wake Forest. Next Game October 10th vs FSU

3. Miami (3-0) - The Canes took FSU behind the woodshed and destroyed the Seminoles 52-10. The questions are already out “is the U back” which seems premature, but the Canes are the most improved team in the country through 3 weeks. Next Game October 10th @ Clemson

4. North Carolina (1-0) - North Carolina had a bye week after a game was cancelled due to Covid-19. The Tar Heels have only played 1 game now entering October, so the question will be how sharp are they. They added a game for December 11th vs Western Carolina to make up for the missed game. Next Game Saturday 3:30PM @ Boston College

5. Pittsburgh (3-0) - The Panthers got 220 yards and 2 TD passes from QB Kenny Pickett in a 23-20 victory over Louisville. Pitt played great defense holding the explosive Cardinals to just 198 total yards. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM vs NC St

6. Virginia Tech (1-0) - The Hokies finally had an opportunity to play football and even though they were still dealing with Covid-19 issues, prevailed 45-24 over NC St. Backup QB Quincy Patterson II threw 2 TDs for VT who totaled 474 yards of offense. Next Game Saturday 4:00PM @ Duke

7. Virginia (1-0) - Much like VT, the Cavaliers finally were able to play this past weekend and came through with a 38-20 win over Duke. Brennan Armstrong threw for 269 yards and 2 scores and Wayne Taulapapa chipped in with 95 yards on the ground. Next Game Saturday 8:00PM @ Clemson

8. Boston College (2-0) It was not pretty for the Eagles as they squeaked by Texas St 24-21 to improve to 2-0. Phil Jurkovec threw for 210 yards and a score in the victory. Next Game Saturday 3:30PM vs UNC

9. North Carolina St (1-1) The Wolfpack struggled on offense during a 45-24 loss at Virginia Tech. QB Bailey Hockman did not play well so Dave Doeren turned to Devin Leary in the 2nd half, but he could not spark a rally. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM @ Pitt

10. Louisville (1-2) Just one week after putting up a lot of yards in a loss to Miami, Malik Cunningham and the Cardinals struggled mightily vs Pitt. Louisville fell to 1-2, and probably any chances of competing for the conference championship also went out the window. Next Game Friday October 9th @ Georgia Tech

11. Syracuse (1-2) The Orange got their 1st win of the season over Georgia Tech 37-20. The Orange got 112 yards from freshman RB Sean Tucker and Tommy DeVito threw for 194 yards and 2 scores. Next Game October 10th vs Duke

12. Georgia Tech (1-2) - Jeff Sims will be a good QB one day soon, but he must learn to protect the football. Sims now has 8 interceptions in 3 games which is a recipe for disaster. Next Game Friday October 9th vs Louisville

13. Wake Forest (0-2) The Demon Deacons enjoyed a bye week after opening the season 0-2. They need to work on a defense that has surrendered 82 points in 2 games. Next Game Friday 7:00PM vs Campbell

14. Duke (0-3) Duke once again lost, this time to Virginia, but unlike the team listed at 15th, the Blue Devils put up a fight. Chase Brice threw for 214 yards but also threw 4 picks. Next Game Saturday 4:00PM vs Virginia Tech

15. Florida St (0-2) FSU was embarrassed on ABC primetime 52-10 by Miami. Nothing went right for the Noles as the Canes scored on 6 consecutive possessions to start the game. Next Game Saturday 4:00PM vs Jacksonville St
