Week Eight ProCane of the Week: TE/Brevin Jordan - (three receptions for 41 yards and one touchdown) It has been a long-awaited debut for Jordan who made the most of his first live action at the pro level. Jordan, who slipped mightily in this past April’s draft, ended up finding the end zone in his first game and had 41 yards receiving on the day. Jordan waited until the fifth round on draft day due to questions about his size and a subpar Pro Day. He was the ninth tight end taken during the weekend and two picks after the first kicker was drafted (Florida’s Evan McPherson).

If Jordan’s impassioned speech on how much he loves Miami is any indication of what the athletic and versatile tight end brings to the table, the play on the field should not have come as a surprise. Even more, Jordan’s score in his first game is far more impressive than what other tight ends have done to date - which is one of the toughest positions to adjust to in the NFL. Namely, out of the eight tight ends picked ahead of him, only three have scored this season. To that end, the earliest any of those three scored was their third game in action. Jordan finding the end zone in his debut is just the scratch of the surface for the tight end who should thrive at the NFL level and continue to prove the doubters wrong - and the 146 players drafted ahead of him.
Just picked up Brevin Jordan for free in a few leagues. Remember him? He had his first touchdown last week and opportunity is a knockin'. Both TE's in front of him, Akins & Brown are UFA's next year.

ProCanes Week Eight Highlights:
It’s been a far cry for the program that holds the record of most consecutive weeks of a touchdown with 149 straight weeks of a score from 2002-2011, but two other Canes found the end zone in week eight. Jets wide receiver, Braxton Berrios, had a nice toe drag touchdown early in New York’s upset over the Cincinnati Bengals. Berrios’ success should also not be a surprise to Canes’ fans. Seahawks running back and specialist, Travis Homer, also found the end zone on a nifty 44-yard return on an onside kick to seal the 31-7 win for Seattle over the Jags. Browns tight end, David Njoku, also continues to be utilized in situational opportunities for Cleveland as he tallied three receptions for 39 yards.
Besides the scoring onslaught, not many Canes stood out in week eight. But it was another young ProCane, Quincy Roche, who showed flashes of his grittiness in a close loss for the Giants against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Roche had a career high three tackles, but a key third-down play in the fourth quarter where Roche converged on Mahomes, which led to a sack and subsequent field goal, indicate Roche is ready to show his flair off the edge. Jaguars safety, Rayshawn Jenkins, also strung together six tackles.
Week Nine Projected ProCane of the Week: DE/Gregory Rousseau - Rousseau has been fantastic this season, enough to earn a spot on the PFF all-rookie mid-season team. PFF’s Michael Renner wrote: “he’s racked up 13 pressures in two games against Miami, compared to only three pressures in his other five outings. Rousseau has the length and get-off to be a genuine pocket-collapser at the NFL level.” He’s earned an 87.7 PFF Grade. While Rousseau didn’t get the chance to play Trevor Lawrence during his elite 15.5-sack 2019 season, he gets an opportunity to tear apart the Jags offensive line today.
