Happy Monday morning, Canes. Let’s get this week started right!
Welcome to Florida State Week!
Miami’s annual rivalry week ahead of the game against the Florida State Seminoles is here! We always do it big here at SOTU for this week, and this year will be no different. So be sure you check out our StoryStream, which will have all our content leading up to the game in one handy spot.
Georgia Tech Film Review
As is standard after a Canes game, our guy Justin Dottavio got in the lab to bring you a breakdown of the action. I haven’t checked it out yet, but I’m thinking he probably wasn’t too thrilled at the fumbles that kept the game from being a blowout. Just a hunch.

Canes open as favorites over Noles
Just as with every week, our partners at DraftKings Sportsbook (and other sportsbooks as well, but who cares about them, right?) released the opening lines for next CFB weekend on Sunday afternoon. And for the Canes, it’s a familiar story, with Manny Diaz’s team entering this rivalry week matchup against the Noles as the favorites.
#Canes open as 2.5pt favorites on the road at Florida State per @DKSportsbook. O/U 61 also.— StateOfTheU.com (@TheStateOfTheU) November 8, 2021
The standard “home team” bump is 3 points. So Miami is 5.5 points clear of that to start the week.
Whatever. Just win. But being the favorites is always the position you want to be in.
Blips on the Radar
It seems that FSU fans and media are very concerned about facing Tyler Van Dyke. Uh oh....
I think Miami will be a real challenge next week. Tyler Van Dyke is the best QB FSU has seen this season and WR room is most talented FSU will face this season.— Josh Newberg (@joshnewberg247) November 7, 2021
FSU will need Jordan Travis back next week to have a shot at making something happen on offense.
That’s it for today.
