The Miami Hurricanes picked up a major commitment on Wednesday afternoon when Knoxville (TN) Catholic 4-star QB/elite baseball player Kaden Martin picked The U.

Martin is a blue chip QB on the gridiron, ranked as the #7 dual-threat QB in the country this cycle on the 247sports composite, and has led Knoxville Catholic to winning records in each of the last 2 years. Along the way, Martin has thrown for more than 2,600 yards, 20 TDs, 10 INTs, and ran for more than 600 yards and 18 TDs.

The son of former Tennessee QB and longtime CFB coach and recently hired Baltimore Ravens assistant Tee Martin, Kaden has a smooth game, and a big time pedigree for high level athletics. And, while his accomplishments on the football field are enough to warrant high level interest, his performance and potential as a baseball player is even more noteworthy.

A power hitting outfielder and flamethrowing pitcher, Martin is one of the top prep baseball players in the country. He is thought to be one of the top prep prospects for the 2021 MLB Draft, and could bypass school altogether by signing a professional contract, if selected high enough.

Martin will come to Miami on a baseball scholarship, but is also likely to play football if he enrolls in school. He would be the latest in a long line of players at Miami who have played both sports, joining players such as David Thompson in doing so.

Regardless of which sport Martin plays at Miami, he is a talented player who adds athleticism, potential, and proven talent to the roster. You can find both Martin’s football and baseball highlights below.

Welcome to the U, Kaden!
