Storm Center, September 11th: It’s Home Opener Game Day!!!!

Time to get on the good foot, and into the W column.

NCAA Football: Alabama at Miami Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to another Miami Hurricanes game day, everyone! This time, it’s the home opener and the return to Hard Rock Stadium for the team and the fans!

Here are some things to get your day started the right day as we push towards kickoff at 7:30pm against the Appalachian State Mountaineers.

Previewing the Mountaineers

Over the last 15ish years, Appalachian State has been one of the best and pluckiest mid-major teams in the world of College Football. Obviously, the 2007 upset of then-#5 ranked Michigan is the high water mark for the program, but they have competed with and beaten other Power 5 teams over the years. An overtime loss at Penn State in 2018, and a win at North Carolina in 2019 being the most recent.

Miami has played AppSt one other time: the Canes blasted the Mountaineers 45-10 in a 2016 game that was the first time a Power 5 team ever visited Boone, NC. This is the return trip of the home and home between the teams. And Justin Dottavio has your film preview for the day:

One Thing I’m Looking to See

My good internet buddy Juicefrom300 is prolific on social media, but his commentary pieces here with us at SOTU is rare and worthy viewing. Kinda like Haley’s Comet, yanno? Anyway, here’s his latest piece, in which he again pleads with coaches to play the best players, and then assesses the latest depth chart. Check it out:
