The ACC is proving that there is not a title contender in the conference. For the 1st time in years it feels like multiple teams potentially could take down mighty Clemson. Georgia Tech went into Death Valley and gave the Tigers all they can handle. North Carolina seemed to find their offensive prowess in a big win over Virginia and the bottom of the conference is now littered with former powers.
Week 3 Power Rankings
1. Clemson (2-1) - It wasn’t pretty at all but the Tigers survived GT in a lightning delayed game. Something is amiss with the offense and it needs to be fixed asap. Next Game @ NC St
2. North Carolina (2-1) - Sam Howell has found his groove and that’s dangerous for the rest of the conference. Tar Heels blew out UVA 59-39. Next Game @ Georgia Tech
3. Boston College (3-0) - Eagles had no problem with Temple. 3 easy games, 3 wins, but the competition level increases significantly this week. Next Game Missouri
4. Wake Forest (3-0) - Wake dominated FSU 35-14. Sam Hartman threw for 259 yards and 2 scores in the victory. Next Game @ Virginia
5. Virginia Tech (2-1) - Hokies battled back but came up short in a 27-21 loss to West Virginia. Braxton Burmeister threw for 223 yards and 2 scores in the loss. Next Game Richmond
6. Virginia (2-1) - The offense was dynamic behind Brennan Armstrong but the defense was torched by UNC in a 59-39 loss. Next Game Wake Forest
7. North Carolina St (2-1) - Devin Leary threw for 3 scores in a blowout win 45-8 over Furman. Next Game Clemson
8. Louisville (2-1) - Cardinals got a wild walk off 42-35 win over UCF. Jaylin Alderman returned an interception 66 yards for the game winner. Next Game @ FSU
9. Pittsburgh (2-1) - Kenny Pickett threw 6 TDs but the Panthers defense was torched for 44 points in a loss to Western Michigan. Next Game New Hampshire
10. Duke (2-1) - The Blue Devils got 314 yards from Gunnar Holmberg in a 30-23 win over Northwestern. Duke has won 2 straight after a tough season opening loss. Next Game Kansas
11. Syracuse (2-1) - The Orange rolled 62-24 over Albany. Sneaky tough game this week against Hugh Freeze and company. Next Game Liberty
12. Georgia Tech (1-2) - The Yellow Jackets got a moral victory in defeat to Clemson. GT had a chance to tie the game at the end of regulation but came up short. Next Game North Carolina
13. Miami (1-2) - Welcome to the hot seat Manny Diaz. Canes were dominated in the 4th quarter by Michigan St in a 38-17 loss. Next Game Central Connecticut St
14. Florida St (0-3) - It is officially rock bottom for the Seminoles. They are 1 of 2 FBS Power 5 teams without a win. Will they need to buyout Mike Norvell? Next Game Louisville
The ACC is a mess and in 2021 seems to be up for grabs. How many coaches are now on the hot seat? FSU, Miami and Cuse all have guys who may not make it to years end.
