An hour before Miami kicks off against Alabama to start the 2021 football season, Hurricanes Football announced the following suspensions. All players suspended are listed as out for violating team rules.
- TE Larry Hodges - suspended 2 games
- RB Jaylan Knighton - suspended 4 games
- S Avantae Williams - suspended 6 games
Williams’s suspension was previously known after a legal incident that led to his dismissal from the program. He has since been reinstated to the University and Team, but still has the listed suspension.
The biggest losses here are Williams and Knighton. And Hodges’s absence has cleared the way for freshman TE Elijah Arroyo to become TE2 for the Canes.
Miami faces Alabama at 3:30pm eastern on ABC.
