Miami will sign a bunch of elite prospects today. But will there be any surprises, good or bad, for Cristobal and Co.?

Welcome to the Early Signing Period, Canes fans!

This living document will be updated with every signee today, as well as the decisions of other Canes targets as well.

The tweet says it all. Armondo Blount to the U.

Official from UM

Apparently, despite his public reaffirmation of his commitment to Ohio State, 5-star WR Jeremiah Smith has not yet submitted his National Letter of Intent to the school. Multiple reports have surfaced that Miami is and will continue to talk to Smith to try and get the generational talent to sign with Miami until his NLI is on file, either in Coral Gables or elsewhere.

TL;dr - Jeremiah Smith hasn’t actually signed yet.

Stay tuned.

4-star RB Kevin Riley flipped his commitment from Miami and signed with Alabama. Tuscaloosa County native lives a stone’s throw from Alabama’s campus.

BANG! Miami flips 4-star Under Armour All-American LB Adarius Hayes from Florida!

WR Jojo Trader has signed his NLI with Miami.

The top player in the country, WR Jeremiah Smith, sticks with his commitment to Ohio State. No flip to Miami.

TE Elija Lofton has signed his NLI

OT Deryc Plazz has signed his NLI

Miami target Adarius Hayes announced he’ll make his final decision between Florida (to whom he’s been committed since January) and Miami at 1pm eastern

EDGE Marquise Lightfoot has signed with Miami.

Miami has already received National Letters of Intent (NLIs) from a large part of this class. 19 players have submitted their NLI’s by 8:20am. I’m catching up in this live blog.

They are, in order, as follows:

QB Judd Anderson

OT Juan Minaya

EDGE Elias Rudolph

DB Ryan Mack

RB Chris Wheatley-Humphrey

DL Daylen Russell

OL Nino Francavilla

DB Isaiah Thomas

RB Jordan Lyle

WR Chance Robinson

WR Ny Carr

CB Romanas Frederique Jr.

JUCO OT Markel Bell

EDGE Booker Pickett Jr.

EDGE Cole McConathy

K Abram Murray

S Dylan Day

DT Artavius Jones

Miami has an ELITE class, the kind of class you expected when they hired Mario Cristobal to come reconstruct the program. Going into the Early Signing Period, Miami holds 28 commitments, including a 5-star, a slew of 4 stars, and some talented 3-stars, a few of whom should absolutely be ranked higher than they are. Even with this monster group committed there are several big fish Mario Cristobal is hoping to reel in starting today, but going through the rest of the early signing period this week, and into January/February for traditional signing day as well. And that’s not even mentioning the Transfer Portal, which is sure to be a boon for Miami as well!

So hop in the comments and enjoy the day! There will be plenty of updates, and here’s hoping they’re good ones for the good guys from Coral Gables.
