According to the 247Sports composite, Cross is the No. 19 small forward prospect, and ranked No. 78 nationally. He is a four-star prospect.
Cross comes from the same high school as incoming freshman Anthony Walker.
The 6-6, 225-pound wing player picked the Canes over Indiana, Butler, South Carolina and other destinations. Versatile, Cross could be a candidate to fill roles currently held by DJ Vasiljevic and Sam Waardenburg, a senior and junior on the 2019-20 roster.
This summer in the Nike EYBL league, Cross averaged over 23 points per game and just under a double-double with nine-and-a-half rebounds.
The recruiting trail win for Jim Larrañaga is not his first in New England, a region that has brought the likes of Walker and Bruce Brown to Coral Gables. Larrañaga now turns his focus on getting other 2020 targets, such as Niels Lane, Deivon Smith and Andre Curbelo, to join the class.
